The Partnership of Professional Practice (PPP) brings together two important programs of the University of Divinity, designed to equip practitioners for professional and pastoral settings. These programs are offered as part of the University’s courses, hosted by Whitley College and can be undertaken by students enrolled through any of its colleges.

Professional Supervision

The University of Divinity is committed to the training and equipping of excellent professional supervisors. The university welcomes practitioners and celebrates diversity, equity and inclusion.

The Professional Supervision program trains experienced practitioners to respond to the growing need for professional supervision in the areas of chaplaincy, health, education, ministry, spiritual direction, well-being and spiritual care, and other people-focused professions. The program promotes reflective, reflexive engagement, working personally, systematically, contextually and spiritually in relation to role, purpose and mature ethical praxis. Pathways into further study are designed within the Partnership for Professional Practice.

Clinical Pastoral Education

The Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Program is designed for those serving in ministry, chaplaincy, education, health, or spiritual direction. Through guided practice and reflection, students engage deeply with the art of pastoral care in real-world settings. The program develops spiritual and professional maturity, strengthening the capacity to offer compassionate, ethical, and contextually aware care.
